Tell me!

I look at her, stealing glances
She smiles innocently, as though uncaring
And those eyes sparkle, with hidden naughtiness
That freckled pale skin blushing away to pink.

She looks at me, as though waiting
As if she knows within I am struggling
To open my heart to her for once
And tell her those feelings for her I’ve embedded.

The blood races in my veins as I gather courage
I step close to her with firm resolve
Yet when I just look into those eyes,
I forget the words I had till now rehearsed.

I see those eyes stop at me and give
Some message unspoken by lips
They seem to tell some underlying secret
Which his lips don’t want to reveal.

What stops him, I don’t know
What he wants to say, I am dying to hear
His quivering lips, his uncertain steps
His hesitant steps and dimpled smile

They all tell me another story
Is it what my heart has heard from his?
Is this love that is unfolding between us?
Will he tell me or will I keep waiting forever!
