With the holidays just beginning for me, I am on a review of my just finished book, but before that, I share a book I had read last year! Titled as The Best of Fools by Marilyn Grey, is a book I really enjoyed reading. So here goes the review!
The Best of Fools is another amazing creation of Marilyn Grey. I used the word creation, because she didn’t just write a book. She created Jane, Donovan, Alistair, Autumn and so many characters. So many people.
It’s about Jane, who happens to meet Alistair, at the airport. They spend a few hours together and he asks her to meet him four years later! A stranger who makes her feel things which she never felt. Will she wait and meet him or does she love her best friend? Is their friendship ready to take the next step? Well that’s what you need to read the book to find out!
The best thing about it is that it makes you feel the things, the incidents, the joys and the pains with all those people. I found myself relate to Jane in so many ways – avoiding to let love in, trying to sweep-under-the-carpet all the problems, confused about feelings, scared of expectations and the love for Batman.
Friendship and love are beautiful things that can exist between people. The book shows these two in the best way. The roller coaster ride some of us face in life is just so hard yet a strengthening one. All hardships don’t make Jane hard, they make her strong, they make her feel things she thought were weaknesses.
I loved the inspiring plots and scenes within the story.
The guys are just so adorable and yet so real. I really liked the way Marilyn shows love not just by words or actions or gestures but by eyes. Eyes which can talk more than words. Everything just makes you fall in love with them.
I am surely going to suggest it to those who believe in love. It is one of my favourites now. It’s not just a love story.
It’s the story of Jane Austen, no, not that Jane Austen, that’s exactly the title of the prequel or novella before this book came about. If you read it before the book, it kind of gives you the background about the characters and the starting point. No, not that Jane Austen, created the atmosphere before the story unfolded.
I give it a 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!! It is one slow emotional romantic ride! Ready for it, then plunge on!
Specially written by a true romantic, for all the romantics out there!
Ciao for now!
